Tip surgery (tipplasty) is performed on patients who do not have any breathing or appearance problems or functional disorders in the upper part of the nose, but simply desire a change in the tip.
Why is Tipplasty Performed?
Tipplasty is performed to elevate the tip of the nose, i.e., suspend the tip; to slim and reduce the tip of the nose to fit the entirety of the nose; and to bring the tip of the nose forward, proportionately, to the entirety of the nose.
Operative and Treatment Process
Tipplasty, which takes less time than rhinoplasty, can be performed under general or local anesthesia, depending on the situation. During the procedure, performed under general anesthesia, an incision is made inside the tip of the nose. The tip of the nose is filed, the cartilage and tissues are revised, and the new tip is constructed with the necessary procedures, and the incision is closed. Because no bone tissue is manipulated, exercise can begin earlier, within 10 days.
If the patient has a respiratory condition, it does not preclude treatment at the same time as tip surgery.
